Why We Have Bad Days

There can be a ton of reasons why we have bad days. Maybe you’ve gone through a breakup, maybe something else has happened in your life, or maybe it’s just one of those days where you don’t feel well.

Our mental health has a big impact on our physical health. I’m sure you’ve tried it before, your mood isn’t the greatest which makes you feel physically sick, and that’s why we have to find a way of improving our mental health, starting by improving the bad days that come.

Important To Remember

Even if you have the worst day of your life, it’s important to remember that the worst day of your life still only last 24 hours.

If you’re feeling down then remember that it won’t last forever, and things will get better.

I know that’s easy to say, and hard to believe, but it’s true, so just do what you can to make yourself feel better and then it will happen for you as well!

Even though it’s really tough you do, you have to try to keep a positive attitude. If you keep thinking ”I feel too bad to do anything” ”I can’t feel better” then you won’t feel better, because your mind starts to believe that you can’t feel any better.

But if you try to keep a positive mind and fight to make yourself feel better, then you will feel a difference.

What To Do When You Have A Bad Day

1. Do Your Best To Be Positive

As I talked about, it’s important to try to be positive when you have a bad day. It will get worse if you just accept that you feel bad, and feel sorry for yourself.

It’s hard to be positive, so I’m not expecting you become happy just by doing this, but be as positive as you can, because positivity is better than negativity, especially when you’re having a bad day.

2. Do Something You Like

Do something you like to do, that normally makes you feel better. Watch some movies, play some games, whatever you normally do to make yourself in a better mood.

3. Do Some Exercise

Exercise releases endorphins in your brain which automatically makes you feel better, so this is an important part of making your day better.

Don’t do some exercise you absolutely hate doing. It doesn’t have to be some 10-mile run, but just do whatever you feel like.

You can go for a walk, or just do some workout at home if that suits you better. As long as you’re being active, it will help.

4. Be Social

Some days you need to be by yourself and just relax, which I completely understand.

But sometimes it can boost your mood to be with some of your best friends. They can make you laugh and make you forget about your bad day. Distractions are a great way of boosting your mood, because it doesn’t have the time to feel sad.

You can also be social by talking on the phone with someone, you can talk about why you’re feeling sad or just anything at all.

Every contact with someone may help you, because if you feel alone, then you might feel worse.

How To Make The Following Day Better

Even though it’s important to make your bad day better, it’s also important to find a way of improving the following days, so you don’t work hard to make your day better and then have to start over the next day.

The same advice goes for the next days because they can improve your mood.

But one thing you can do is to plan with yourself what you’re going to do the next day. If your day is more organized then you will be distracted and you will have a better chance of that day being good.

Before you go to sleep then tell yourself that tomorrow is going to be better. If you tell yourself something enough times then your brain believes it.

That is why you can’t go around with negative thoughts because you’ll start to believe them.

Be as positive as you can, even after the bad day is over, because this can have an impact on the following days, and can eventually impact your mental health in general.
